Got my haircut this morning by @luminariessalonboutique, and so I’m out and about early to meet my mother for coffee. She says she misses me because I’ve been in Detroit at various library archives doing research for weeks; I will give her my day. I’m waiting for her while I write contemplate and read. Nina Simone is playing in the background—my baby just cares for me. Tomorrow I will be visiting the archives at U of M—Back to work! 💕

Pictured is one fancy latte, St. Teresa de Avila’s memoir, the Climate Justice issue of @geezmagazine, and my notebook with a new story in the works. 😄

I'm the host and creator of the podcast, Loving the Imperfect. I'm a freelance writer and historical researcher in Detroit. I hold a master’s degree in education from Oakland University with a concentration in English and history. My fiction and poetry have appeared in Halcyone Magazine, The 3288 Review, The Write Launch, and the Ketchup Press. My nonfiction has been featured in Valley Living Magazine, Michigan Out of Doors Magazine, and Planet Detroit News. I have won awards for my writing through Oakland University, and my film, Not For Sale was selected for four film festivals. In my spare time, I whittle, repair broken violins, and I love to fish. I reside somewhere in Michigan with my husband, children, and the fastest dog that ever lived.
